I am currently in the planning stages of my restoration/build of a 1984 GS. I wanted to know about the coil over kit in combination with poly bushings, anti sway bars and camber kit. I currently lurk around the rx7 club site and hear nothing but good about you and your products. Sooo, the car will be a daily driver, with the occasional autocross. I don't plan on getting crazy with horsepower, just some mild stuff. I want the car to be fun, and not "work" to drive. I don't want a kidney brace, or to create a total rattle trap. (I am a bit partial to having the suspension doing the flexing and not the chassis.) I am looking to build a well balanced car. The roads around here (central Illinois) aren't always the best, so I don't want to sacrifice a bunch of suspension travel. I have been looking at the Racing Beat stuff because of their good reputation, and I really enjoy the RB tuned suspension that my Protege has. It works well, but I would like it to have a better stance. (Since I put so many miles on the Protege, I wont sacrifice how well it functions for a better look.) From what I've seen and read, I won't be totally satisfied with the stance using the RB springs on the 7. I am just looking for some recommendations. Thanks for your time and input.
My recommendation for your setup would be to stay with ES poly bushings. Get a heavier front sway bar (Racing Beat has a good simple street HD bar). Our front coil over kit with 225# springs and some tokico blues. For the rear springs you really only have two choices, Eibach rear springs (with dead coils) from Ground Control or our adjustable rear spring perches. If you go a route with a rear spring rate option, 125# to go with those 225# fronts.
