I sent this question on your ReSpeed site. What does it take to fit this to a 302 in the chassis. And will it even fit if modified. I am in Knoxville and can bring the car down to your shop.

I just wanted to post the picture of underneith the car.

83 Rx with 302. Subframe has been flipped to accomodate the oil pan. Take a look at it and let me know what you think.

I went over this with Billy a while ago, the current rack and pinion kit will not work with the Ford double sump pan, with the 5.0 we turned the 12a crossmember around to create enough room, this allows the front sump to clear the crossmember, the problem is that the Respeed rack and pinion kit sits in front of the stock 12a crossmember location. So unless you have some custom install with the engine behind the crossmember it won't fit the Ford 5.0 application.

I have requested that Billy look at alternatives so if we can get enough of us to make it worthwhile it MAY happen.

+1...Billy how many guys would you need to get a couple made? Have any of your customers successfully used the RP kit and made their own motor mounts that worked?

It will not happen with our current design. The cross-member is just in the way. Since the rack mounts off of cross-member it can not be flipped like the stock one.

It would take 5 guys willing to purchase and one of them ready to drop a car off for RnD. Could take a few to three months to have it ready for production.
