hi, i sure like the look of the rack and pinion update for the 12a cars. Mine is an 1983 and as we are in he midst of planning an engine swap, any advanced information on whether or not the R & P upgrade will still work with the S5 FC turbo upgrade with TII trans. Anyone tried it? thanks, just a shot in the dark but it is on my "want to know list", thanks cliff

Cliff,

If you convert to the front mount front cover and the gsl-se oil pan it would bolt directly in with the cradle.
This would also let you go with a mechanical OMP rather than the electric one found on the s5 motors. Unless you plan to use the stock s5 computer. This needs to see the electric OMP.

Are there any plans to modify the crossmember to accept a direct bolt-in of an S4/S5 engine without the SE components as the RPM guys were discussing before yours came to market and killed the RPM project?

They will not be integrated into the crossmember but will work with it or on its own. They are in the design stage.

Are we looking at a spring '08 introduction?

Yes, sounds about right.

I'd like to add that the stock S5 turbo and heat shield fit just fine. When this was first announced there was some question as to whether the rear control arm bracket on the passenger side would interfere. It doesn't.
