Full Version: 1974 RX-4 - Big Brake and Rear Disc upgrade

I've been searching for information on what's available in terms of upgrading the front brakes on my 1974 RX-4.

If possible, I would not mind going to something with 4X114 or even 5X114 as there are so many more wheel options in that size lug pattern.

In the rear, I'd like to know what's available, including swapping out the rear end to get a Limited Slip Differential. Again, if possible to match the lug pattern in the front upgrade.

Finally, I'd like to have coil-overs in the front, but more importantly the brakes upgraded.

Thanks for any help.

Ken,

With the Rx4 you can use first gen strut housings and inserts. This would allow you to use our big brake kit. Our race coil over for the first gen can be used on Rx4 strut housings as well if you decide to stick with them. Our first gen camber plates will bolt to a Rx4 with slight modification to the mounting holes.

As far as the rear, we would not be able to offer 5 lug axles since it is a small spline axle. You can re-drill your rear axle for the new bolt pattern.
