I would like to convert the front and rear suspension to RX-7 GSl-SE (if possible). My question to the experts is whether it is worth it? AND How hard is it?

Back from the dead,

I can't really say either way. However, another option for you might be to put coilovers on the front (just released), which will greatly improve the front suspension. Billy is working on a setup for the rear too.

Sounds good. What I really am after is the braking system. Any suggestions?

Jason, The rx2 steering knuckles do not have the same bolt pattern as the first gen Rx7. So the strut housings do not bot up. Also the king pin inclination between the two differ. This means you will end up with allot of positive camber. We decided to go the route of keeping the stock rx2 housings and sprucing up the parts that bolt on them.

With this in mind we developed spacers that allow the FB front inserts to be installed directly into the rx2 housings. We have also developed a front coil over kit for the front of the rx2. We are currently working out the rear coil over system as well as a brake kit for the front. These items to be released soon.

Well to be perfectly honest, I am in no rush. I'll wait until you are done. My first step was and still is to get the car started. There was compression last time I check so I am hopeful it will start with no issues. I guess it would be a good idea to see just how much compression there is. haha.... I guess I should look into that first but I have in the back of my mind how I am going to stop once this thing gets moving. You see, just a visual inspection what the rotors were all rusted and tires were flat. I cant decide if I wanted to use what's there (which means rebuilding) or upgrade all together. ahh decision decisions.... Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, can you post pictures so I know what you are talking about. Hate to be such a newbie but you are speaking a foreign language right now. smile.gif

If I also got the 2.5" Coil Over Springs & the 81-85 HP Series Front Inserts, that would be all for the front?

Please let me know when you have the back set up ready. Id be interested in that as well.

Yes sir, that is what you would need for the front. Plan for the rear is to use FC rear shocks.

sweet! let me know when the rear become available.

Do you still stock the adapter plate for the brakes? AND is there possibly a drum to disk conversion in the works? After looking at the brakes in its current condition, it seems it might be more economical to simply upgrade the brakes rather rebuilding (i.e. resurfacing the rotors, rebuilding the slave cylinders) when i know I am going to want to upgrade them in the future. Besides I dont know how available brake pads are anymore.

Had another question for ya.....

It is possible to do the rear drum to disk conversion and then upgrade that to bigger brake rotors?

We do have some brackets that go from the drum rear end directly to 88-91 turbo II rear calipers. the issue would be the axles would need to be 5 lug to fit the rotors.

Billy, Can you list out the things I will need to complete this? I am trying to price everything out before making the purchase. For example, Which wheel bearing and seals do I use? Sorry if I am being such a pest.

No problem. Tell me exactly what you are wanted to convert from and to.

You will use the stock bearings and seals. Our kit replaces the drum backing plates. Stock axles are retained.
