Full Version: Camber plates with stock springs

I have a 79 SA w/ 1/4 degree positive camber. I live right next to a mountain. Bad outer tire wear.
I would like to put in some performance shocks (koni reds) and stock springs w/ RE Speed camber plates.
I am running stock 13" waffles and will never change them. Also on stock sized rubbers. 185/70 13

Will I have any issues with rubbing the stock springs w/ some negative camber. I would like at least a degree, maybe degree and a half.....Whatever is still streetable. Like I said, mountain w/ mountain roads wink.gif

Thank you,
Ben

You should be fine with the stock springs I think. I started out with stock when I installed my camber plates, but later upgraded to the coilovers so I could get more movement out of the plates for autocrossing.

Also, take a look at this thread on tires. You can do a lot better than 185s with the wheels you've got.

Ben, since the front strut housing and spindle are one piece the camber adjustment will not adversely effect the tire clearance. The relationship between the two will not change only the entire assembly rotates in.
