The car ran and handled like a dream all day, and I learned a few new tricks in the last couple of months that are really paying off (changes in driving style).

The fourth run was my best, and good enough to get me into 4th place behind 2 STI Subies and a supercharged Mustang (out of a field of 71).

And best of all, that was with my 50 dollar tires!!! smile.gif Oh, and this is the same car I drive to work every day. Not too shabby, eh?

Here's some in car video:

And here's a link to the results (I'm #98 in CSP):

Very Nice Ken!

I still would like to try to make it down and compete against you.

Yeah, that would be a lot of fun! We usually have an end of year race (sometimes in the snow) the first week of November. That one is at an excellent site where we get some really good speeds.

What did you change in your driving style. I hear no tire squeal.

The change in driving style was to ignore the "proper line" and instead stick as closely to the cones as I could. This is where most of the other drivers were running, so anywhere else is where all the dirt and gravel gets kicked to. Close to the cones is where I found the traction to be.

But more than that, I figured out the tire pressures that the Sumitomos are happy with on their new wheels. Would you believe 50 - 55 psi?!? Much better traction at those higher pressures. smile.gif

I also noticed that your hands on the steering wheel is crazy smooth. Nice driving man. I need more seat time!

Thanks man. Steering input gets a bit faster on race rubber, but the Sumitomos seem to prefer a softer touch. smile.gif

Okay, I took some time this evening and threw together some footage from last spring. This one is 90% rotary, with a couple of other cars thrown in because I felt they were "worthy".

One of them is the first Porsche to have beaten me in years (what can I say, I was having an off day), and the Lotus, and that damned Supercharged Miata that gave me trouble for the longest time (but I think I've got his number now).

I didn't take the time to do anything fancy with this, no tricky transitions or soundtrack, but its still got RX7s doing what they do best. Enjoy the show....
