Hey all. I live in Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies . I have decided to put up our project RX-2 RE build so here goes.

We got this Series 2 RX-2 in 2006 with a bussed 13B (waterseal damage) and was in the market for a new engine and wanted to go something fuel injected and turbocharged so went looking around for a Series 5 89-91 Turbo II motor but at that time could not find an engine complete. Got though with a deal with a Cosmo 13B-REW engine for $10000TT about 1500USD but then an interesting option came up, it was a 99spec FD3S 280HP engine for the same price BUT a lot of parts were missing of the engine. We decided to go with the 99spec rolleyes.gif

Now fitting the motor into the RX-2 was a kinda challenge so what we did is modify the front cover to use the original RE mounting system and got a Series 5 gearbox making a custom bracket to bolt in the box.

So engine in, got an XS power intercooler from an FD3S intercooler kit, a Garrett TO4E turbocharger with a custom manifold and Turbosmart 48mm wastegate. Ran piping with a Greddy FD intake elbow and Blitz BOV. Got it wired to run a 99-spec Apexi Power FC which i am still waiting on unsure.gif Also the gas tank is not so great so is currently ordering in a fuel cell.

As for drivetrain we installed a Turbo II ACT 4-puck clutch kit, custom 3" driveshaft and installed a GSL 3.9 LSD from the FB33 RX-7 into the RE diff housing. Got some used GSL-SE RX-7 front brakes with struts and installed a big brake upgrade from RE-SPEED to work FC calipers and rotors on the RE.

As for the back we made custom brackets and modified our RE axles to fit FC rotors and calipers will put up pictures of those later. some stronger axles would be nice (hint hint!! rolleyes.gif )

Awesome. How easy is it to fit the FB (first gen) front struts in the RX2?

hmm we had to actually make a ball joint using RE and FB33 parts. The RE ball joint is too small to fit in the GSL-SE hub. Also the shock head remained RE with some modifications it using FB33 parts, but i am thinking to change the entire shock head to the RX-3 Camberplate which is a better way to go.
