Hi Billy
I've got a FC subframe ready to go into my racecar.
Obviously I would need a different suspension setup.

Will Your first gen coil over kit, fit the FC struts ?
Same question goes with the camber plate kit?

Springrate suggestion for track race would be great too. F/R

Thanks
Kim

I have looked at it and the coil over for the 79-85 is to long to fit a stock style 86-91 strut. There is only about 3" above the stock spring seat.

Camber plates will work you will just need to turn some spacers between the shock shaft and bearing ID.

Need more info to quote a spring rate.

Fabricating stuff is not a problem for me. I have tools smile.gif

If I cut the original spring seat and weld on a new support for the sleeve, that could do it, right ?
I was just worried if the strut diameter was the same between FB and FC (2")

Thinking I might as well go all out and get the Illuminas, it says in the shop they are inserts!!!
I guess this means I will have to cut and weld the struts to fit them, correct ?

Suspension setup will be:
FC subframe
ReSpeed Front/rear C/O kit
Tokico Illuminas.
ReSpeed Camber plates
PUR bushings
Stock FC swaybar

You do not need to cut or weld the strut tubes to put in aftermarket dampers. There is a large gland nut on top of the stock strut tube that retains the damper insert. You simply take that nut off, pull the guts of the old damper out and insert the new one with an oil bath to prevent overheating the damper. For your plans you would only need to cut and reposition the spring perch, which has to be done with the FB strut tubes to fit the race version coil-overs anyway
