quick question as far as rear coilovers go for the fb. what is the reason you don't have the shock and the spring combined into one unit like on the FC and FD? does it have something to do with the lack of IRS? would it be at all possible to say for instance take rear FC coil overs and mount them from where the shock mounts up into the body. but on the body side of this...could you cut out where the FB shock and weld in a new plate that would allow you to mount the top of the FC coilover in it? and insight would be great. thanks.

It is due to that fact the rear section of the car where the shock bolts was not designed to handle the load of a spring. There have been many to do this in the past they simply tie that area in with the rear down tubes of a roll bar or cage.
